At least four Pokémon Go maps are offered: the very first, at Pokémon GO Locations in Apsley Tasmania 7030, absolutely nos in on your place and starts showing what Pokémon might be close by. And if you happen to reside in the Boston location, you're in genuine luck: a sweet Google Map called Got ta Catch 'Em All takes place to note all the locations local gamers have discovered, total with a list of ultra-rare and rare Pokémon. A different Google Map pegs Pokémon areas in Seattle and Tennessee. Pokémon GO Locations in Central Highlands also supplies a worldwide take a look at Pokémon areas, but without the sophistication of other websites. We all knew sponsored locations were coming to Pokémon GO? Did you understand the very first one will be arriving as quickly as tomorrow? That's right, the augmented reality game that has taken the world by storm has actually already offered out to corporate sponsorship. And you thought it had to do with making new pals and getting some exercise.
News anchor Allison Kropff from Tampa posted a video to her Facebook page of her "accidentally" interrupting a live weather forecast while playing "Pokemon Go." The Huffington Post reports meteorologist Bobby Deskins told Kropff to be more cautious. "You guys have got to be cautious with these phones, these Pokemon," he said. "You're only walking around throughout the location." embed.
Eventually, and perhaps above all, Yo-Kai can discuss! Actually, the small boogers have a ton of personality. Do not get me wrong; I adore my carefully curated Pokemon collection to passing, but do I know any of these critters that can just say their names? I know the entire backstory of my principal Yo-Kai, Jibanyan. Other Yokai that I meet can ask me for things and clearly get their feelings across... and that is awful cool compared to Pokemon. Now, obviously, it's not possible at this point to make Pokemon unexpectedly able to speak to their trainers, but the Pokemon anime certainly spends time helping us get to know particular Pokemon as creatures with specific styles and problems.
In the immediate future, those updates include Niantic focusing on stabilizing the servers and found the game in other areas, having just formally released in America, New Zealand, and Australia.
Many of you've probably missed it in November's onslaught of chart-topping releases, but Nintendo has snuck out a little creature-catching game that is been all the rage in Japan for the last few years. Yo-Kai Watch is a bit like the new Pokemon for Japanese kids, complete with its hugely-popular anime series. Actually, in a number of ways, I believe it is even cooler than Pokemon.
First, Yo-Kai Watch happens in our world, and your character has regular kid worries. You are not some pre-teen who's tossed out into the wild world to face down dangerous creatures and train them to engage in bizarre gladiatorial fight rites. You are a normal child who needs to fit in with her (or his) friends and worries when her parents fight. Now, I am not saying that all games should take place in the real world - I love fantasy and sci fi worlds! Nevertheless, I am suggesting that Pokemon games could spend a little more time dealing with narratives that we can relate to as individuals. The short episodes that make up the story of Yo-Kai Watch remind me of tiny anime episodes, and that is exactly what I Have wanted to see the Pokemon games do a bit more of when it comes to storylines.
What one other element of the game Niantic means to address is the lack of explanation it gives for specific game mechanics. Addressing especially the rings that form around a Pokemon while catching them, Hanke admits the game isn't purposefully obtuse.
"We treat it as an ever-evolving game," Niantic CEO John Hanke said in an interview with Game Informer. "It's not something that just minted and then issued on launching day and not transformed."
"I can't say we were that clever, no" Hanke said of whether the game was thought to have players work together to learn the app's intricacies. "We got a lot of comments during the beta, we made a lot of improvements, we repaired a lot of bugs, but I'd put it into that class of something we had love to make that more so that it is more clear."
Now that Pokemon Go has correctly launched --- in certain territories, at least ---Niantic Labs has no intention of leaving the game in its current state. Instead, the developer plans to upgrade the game continually.
In Yo-Kai Watch you play a child who gets the power to see and speak to Yo-Kai, colorful spirits who embody human traits and emotions. You can recruit a ton of them to your side by defeating them in battle, but that is pretty much where the direct likeness to a Pokemon game ends. The battle system is real time and totally different from Pokemon, and the flow of the story is totally distinct. Still, there are a couple of things about Yo-Kai Watch's setting and the story that I think The Pokemon Company could learn from.
The people in the Yo-Kai Watch world also feel more real than Pokemon game people. Everybody, from little children to old people, in the Pokemon world, is obsessed with talking about Pokemon. Practically everybody you talk to gives you meta-game guidance about Pokemon or Pokemon-related services. They aren't people; they are an extended tutorial delivery service. The folks in Yo-Kai Watch, on the other hand, have distinct characters and difficulties that you could pick to help them with. Frequently these difficulties can be solved by summoning or dispelling a Yo Kai, but they do not understand that. They simply understand that their employee is inexplicably late for work, they lost an important toy, or they do not know how to ask out the object of their affection. To put it differently, you can see them as real people with interests unrelated to you and your quest. I'd love to see more of that from.
Hanke noted that this doesn't mean the game will automatically receive important characteristics with each upgrade, but Niantic is devoted to consistently working on and improving the game. As Hanke has formerly said, he reiterates that characteristics like trading and upgrades to PokeStops and gyms are among the strategies the programmer has in store.
Niantic is also looking into Pokemon Go's GPS and battery use issues. It was also recently found that Pokemon Go grants Niantic complete access to users' total Google accounts when they register with that info.
