At least four Pokémon Go maps are available: the very first, at Pokémon GO Locations in Ballendella Victoria 3561, zeroes in on your location and starts showing what Pokémon might be nearby. Pokémon GO Locations in Campaspe likewise provides an around the world look at Pokémon locations, but without the sophistication of other sites. We all knew sponsored locations were coming to Pokémon GO?
The Huffington Post reports meteorologist Bobby Deskins told Kropff to be more cautious. "You guys have got to be careful with these phones, these Pokemon," he said. "You are just walking around all over the place." embed.
Finally, and perhaps most significantly, Yo-Kai can talk! Actually, the little boogers have a ton of style. Don't get me wrong; I love my carefully curated Pokemon collection to death, but do I understand any of these critters that can only say their names? I know the whole backstory of my main Yo-Kai, Jibanyan. Other Yo-Kai that I meet can ask me for things and certainly get their feelings across... and that's extremely trendy in comparison with Pokemon. Now, obviously, it's not possible at this point to make Pokemon abruptly able to speak to their trainers, but the Pokemon anime certainly spends time helping us get to know certain Pokemon as creatures with special characters and difficulties. I'd love it if the games could do a bit more of that instead of simply treating them as a means to an end.
In the immediate future, those updates include Niantic focusing on stabilizing the servers and launching the game in other regions, having only officially released in the United States, New Zealand, and Australia.
Many of you've likely missed it in November's onslaught of chart-topping releases, but Nintendo has snuck out a small creature-catching game that is been all the rage in Japan for the last few years. Yo-Kai Watch is a bit like the new Pokemon for Japanese kids, complete with its extremely-popular anime series. Now that the first game is here, we can see what all the fuss is about, and I Have quite enjoyed the title. In fact, in several ways, I think it is even cooler than Pokemon.
First, Yo-Kai Watch happens in our world, and your character has regular child concerns. You are not some pre-teen who's tossed out into the wild world to face down dangerous creatures and train them to engage in eccentric gladiatorial fight rites. You're a regular child who wants to fit in with her (or his) friends and worries when her parents fight. Now, I'm not saying that all games should take place in the real world - I love fantasy and sci-fi worlds! Nonetheless, I'm proposing that Pokemon games could spend a bit more time dealing with narratives that we can relate to as folks. The brief episodes that make up the story of Yo-Kai Watch remind me of mini anime episodes, and that is just what I've wanted to see the Pokemon games do a bit more of when it comes to storylines.
What one other element of the game Niantic means to address is the lack of explanation it gives for specific game mechanics. Addressing specifically the rings that form around a Pokemon while catching them, Hanke declares the game is not deliberately obtuse.
"It is not something that only minted and then issued on start day and not transformed."
"I can not say we were that clever, no" Hanke said of whether the game was thought to have players work together to learn the app's intricacies. "We got lots of feedback during the beta, we made lots of advancements, we repaired a lot of bugs, but I 'd put it into that category of something we had love to make that more so that it is more apparent."
Instead, the developer plans to upgrade the game continually.
In Yo-Kai Watch you play a child who gets the power to see and talk to Yo Kai, vibrant natures who embody human characteristics and emotions. It's possible for you to recruit a ton of them to your side by defeating them in battle, but that's pretty much where the direct likeness to a Pokemon game endings. The battle system is real-time and fully distinct from Pokemon, and the flow of the story is totally distinct. Still, there are a couple of things about Yo-Kai Watch's setting and the story that I think The Pokemon Company could learn from.
The people in the Yo-Kai Watch world also feel more actual than Pokemon game folks. Everybody, from small children to old people, in the Pokemon world, is obsessed with talking about Pokemon. Almost everybody you talk to gives you meta-game guidance about Pokemon or Pokemon-related services. They'ren't folks; they are an extended tutorial delivery service. The people in Yo-Kai Watch, on the other hand, have distinct personalities and difficulties you can select to help them with. Frequently these difficulties can be solved by summoning or dispelling a Yo-Kai, but they don't know that. They only know that their worker is inexplicably late for work, they lost an important toy, or they don't know how to ask out the target of their affection. To put it differently, you can see them as actual individuals with interests unrelated to you and your quest. I'd love to see more of that from.
Hanke noted that this doesn't mean the game will automatically receive major characteristics with each update, but Niantic is given to consistently working on and improving the game. As Hanke has formerly said, he reiterates that attributes like trading and upgrades to PokeStops and gyms are among the strategies the developer has in store.
Niantic is, in addition, looking into Pokemon Go's GPS and battery usage dilemmas. It was also recently found that Pokemon Go grants Niantic complete accessibility to users' total Google accounts when they enroll with that information.
